Your licence and the status badge

What the licence check does, what the coloured badge means, and what pauses if a subscription lapses.

Every ICTERP server has a licence. You’ll rarely think about it, but it helps to know what the badge in the top bar means if it ever appears.

Owned and subscription licences

  • Owned: a one-time licence. There are no checks, and nothing ever pauses.
  • Subscription: the server checks its licence once an hour with the ICT licence server.

What pauses, and what doesn’t

If a subscription is suspended or expired, ICTERP pauses the ICT features: the Call button, sending leads to campaigns and the ICTDesk sync. The message tells you why.

Everything else keeps working. Every business app stays open, from CRM and Sales to Inventory and your online shop, and no records are locked or hidden. Your customers can keep running their business while the account is sorted out.

The badge

Most of the time there’s no badge at all. It appears in two cases:

  • Amber: the server can’t reach the licence server, for example during a network problem. ICTERP carries on as normal for seven days from the last good check.
  • Red: the ICT features are paused, either because the licence is suspended or because seven days passed without a successful check.

Hover over the badge to see the reason.

Check it now

Administrators can see the licence type, key, status and last check under Settings, ICTERP Licence. Press Check now after a payment or a network fix, and the features come back as soon as the check succeeds.

If the badge stays red after a payment, open a ticket with your provider and include the licence key from that settings page.
